Building and Facilities
Forder was originally built in the 1930s but has been enlarged
several times since then to keep up with an expanding enrollment. The
building was completely renovated in 1995, becoming a modern educational
facility with air-conditioning. The school is completely
handicapped-accessible by elevator.
Technology
In May 2017, Forder was awarded a $50,000 grant through Innovative Technology Education Foundation (ITEF). This project used field missions to excite, inform, and ignite intellectual curiosity and includes students family and community. Through this grant opportunity, the Forder students and staff were able to visit The Challenger Learning Center. We also added two Google Chrome Book charts, which is in addition to the chrome books we already have at Forder. Each classroom is equipped with at least eight chrome books, a document camera and a SMART Board. Our library also has a Chrome Book cart for student use. Students have computer class weekly and utilize programs such as Front-Row, Flip-Grid, Google programs, and Padlet, as well as other opportunities for STEM and coding. Forder has a set of twelve Sphero's that are run by iPads.
